Building vignettes come in handy for use in all kinds of ways. Some are presented in the spirit of a tightly controlled engraving; some are more casually “sketched” such as this example. However they are styled, they can represent the most ominous institutions in one little puff. This one was used on the cover of a series of collateral pieces, which had to project the more human qualities of warmth and friendliness—Hopkins tends to be overwhelming in terms of its history, fame and actual size.
