Born in 1976 in Munich, Germany, Stephanie von Dressler considers herself incredibly lucky to be drawing for a living. The only one in her family to pursue a career in the arts, she always considered going to veterinary school, if the whole Illustration thing didn't work out. So far, however, it certainly has. After some time studying at Duke University, she graduated with double honors from Parsons School of Design in 2001 with a BFA in Illustration. Stephanie is currently a Partner and Manager of Illustration at Ogilvy & Mather, where she has been drawing storyboards and working on other traditional and digital pre-production art with RedWorks Illustration since 2002. She still returns to Parsons as a guest lecturer and portfolio advisor for students.
Stephanie has worked on almost all of Ogilvy's extensive client accounts, especially IBM, American Express, Avon, Coca-Cola, Merck, Kimberly Clarke, SAP, Kraft and Unilever. She has been an essential asset to many creative teams in helping them win numerous pitches and industry awards. She has also done freelance work for clients such as Armani, Puma, Vitamin Water, Raymond Weil and Macy's.
When not working on storyboards, training her CGI skills or doing graphic facilitation, Stephanie enjoys creating characters and humorous sketches about daily life and strange encounters in New York City. After fifteen years in the United States, she is deeply fond of the city and the roots she's grown here, considering herself a proud local.
Stephanie lives in Brooklyn with her husband David and their son Max.
