From the time I was born in the South American country of Colombia, my artistic abilities were encouraged to flourish without boundaries. The fact that my family immigrated to the United States 13 years ago (during the prime of my teenage life) opened a many doors —and many abysses– for me. As a way of coping with the many changes in my life, I chose to spend most of my time exploring a variety of artistic fields.
I found that art was a way to break away from my fears of a "different" life. Art became the anker of my life, my medicine, and my confidant.
Many years have passed since my roots were unearthed and transplanted to a new country. I now enjoy a great job and a stable family life.
However, I still feel that my life is very much nomadic. There is a deep duality in me: I feel true stability only when I'm able to explore new styles, new ideas, new fields, and new ways to do what I love. This feeling has certainly influenced my design sense: I will always yearn for more. I hope that, through my work, you can experience the same pleasure I do, and that it encourages your mind to keep on flowing and to never feel satisfied.
