Tom O’Malley was born in Providence, Rhode Island. He began studying ceramics in high school and received his BFA from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University in 1985. He received his MFA from Rhode Island School of design in 1994.
Presently he heads the Ceramics Department of the Worcester Center for Crafts, where he also works as a studio potter.
Tom’s pieces are inspired by natural landscape, utilizing material, process and intention with-in the context of functional pottery. He has exhibited his works nationally.
