ThePraktis was founded by Daryl Wade and Tobias Rose in December 2001. The two met in early 2001 where they both served as telecommunications chairs for the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE).
With both of their backgrounds in design, they decided to create a company that would introduce new and radical graphic design to give the conservative world wide web, the necessary edge to move forward. Their first project together was the 2001 - 2002 NSBE Region 2 website where they designed, optimized, and managed the NSBE websites for all of Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, Delaware, West Virginia, South Carolina, and North Carolina. It was the first time the organization had a website that generated over 100,000 monthly visits.
ThePraktis is now one of the top graphic design firms in the nation.
