Art, fashion and advertising photographers René Heitmüller and Felice Derkinderen create images together.
Heitmüller and Derkinderen both studied photography at the Royal Academy of Art in the Hague (the Netherlands) and well established themselves as independent professional photographers in Amsterdam. After meeting eachother in 1990 they started making images together under the alias the Beauty and the beast. Since then they have succesfully worked together for clients and personal projects in the Netherlands and abroad. Their work was published in many international and national books, catalogues, annuals and magazines and was exhibited at photofestivals in and outside the Netherlands. Critics describe their photography as stripped to the substance of things, statuesque and timeless with our time caught in it.
