Seth Corts' art tells southern gothic stories. His pen and ink illustrations embody his childhood influences growing up in the farmlands of Indiana and the backwoods of the Appalachian mountains. There, he heard tales of ghosts and spooks, moonshine bootleggers, and the rough and hard scrabble ways of folks just trying to survive. Combining this upbringing with inspiration from 19th century illustrators, Seth inks out scenes of love, homesickness, self-discovery, death and humankind's relationship with nature. His meticulous lines unearth rich stories that seem to hover between times past and present.
