I communicate my feelings about the world through photography. I learned at a young age that people react differently to me when I point a camera at them. My camera helps me engage people in ways that I wouldn't otherwise. The camera is my tool for capturing, saving, and sharing beautiful moments in time.
I believe that as living creatures we are constantly fighting the forces of entropy. Life is about creating order and organization in the face of chaos. Death is the inevitable surrender to chaos. Our mission is to perpetuate the species and thereby deny victory to chaos. Sexual energy drives our behaviors.
When photographing people, I seek to find that element of character which reflects my subject's personal battle with chaos. Much of my work has an edgy, erotic undertone exposing the animal attraction of my subject. Occasionally, I deal with the dark side of the human condition exposing my subject's battle scars from the fight with chaos.
When I create monochromatic images, my intent is to abstract reality so the viewer can appreciate the form, figure, lines and light as artistic elements. My color images tend to be richly saturated to create a "super-real" perception of my subject - the attention is the subject itself.
