Rita Coury moved to California from Arizona to further her means of communication. Capturing the world around her through photographs, a diary of her life frozen by silver, paper, and color can be seen by many in galleries and in print.

Her work has been published by Photo District News (PDN), California 24/7, Oakland Tribune, CMYK Magazine as well as other print and online magazines. Rita has also won awards from the Arizona Press Photographer as well as the Academy of Art University where she earned her Bachelor in Fine Arts.

Rita spent some time in Beirut, Lebanon documenting the Beauty and culture of her family’s home country, one of many individual assignments. Her participation in America 24/7, a nation wide digital documentary, opened the modern technological doors for this otherwise traditional film photographer. Currently Rita works as a freelance photographer in the San Francisco Bay Area while continuously working on her various personal projects.
