Poloncic was born in 1954 in Ljubljana, Slovenia, where he 1972 finished Design high school. He switched several jobs (12 years he was a designer for respected Slovenian bank, 2 years he was a freelance cultural worker). Now he works for the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia. Poloncic won several awards, amongst others a redemption award at the competition for Edvard Kardelj monument project, a statue that would stand in the market in front of the Slovenian parliament.
