PASQUALE CAPRILE

TRAINING:

1974 / 1976


- Master in Business Administration (C.E.U.) at the University of Madrid.


1976 / 1979


- Travelled to London. Degree obtained in London College of Printing in advertising photography and photojournalism. In those years worked with London photographer “John Chalis”, specialised in commercial and advertising photography. Also collaborated with important magazines and advertising agencies around the sector. From London worked as correspondent of the nautical magazine “Bitácora”.


1980 / 1982


Opened the firs studio in C/ Zurbano, in Madrid. Focused on high standard jewellery jobs and the realization of brochures for clients such as: Joyería Grassy, Yanes, Brooking, Presmanes, Gregory, Viciola, Balcarsa, Suarez, etc. Started to contact with publicity and editorial agencies.



1982 / 1986


– Opened his first set in Calle Lorenza Correa, and under the name Estudio P7.
It was focused to develop large decoration and car projects. It also offers renting services for cinemas, TV producers and professional photographer . It has a laboratory in colour and black and white that offers a unique system called “Kodak R14“ ( direct step from slide to paper ). It also counts with an aerial lightening system called “Fatif “ and “ Broncolor “.
During these years started to collaborate with decoration magazines such as, Nuevo Estilo, Casa 16. Mucho Más, El País Dominical, Casa Vogue, Telva, Elle Decoración, Etc. In publicity carried out campaigns with national and international agencies.


1989 / 1990


– The Editorial “El Viso” asked him to photographically illustrate the book "El buen gusto de España" ( Spain’s good taste), sponsored by the Ministry of Culture.


1994 / 1995


- Created and promoted the commercial name PIXEL. A file system in support KodakCD for textures images, free of rights.
- Incorporated in his studio a digital finishing touch system “ Dicomed” offering the possibility of carrying out montages and finishing touches of his own work. First one in this new digital photography field, carried out and collaborated in large publicity campaigns.1996 / 1997 - The editorial Espasa Calpe requested him to photographically illustrate a 5 volume collection of recipes, “ Nuestra Cocina “ ( Our Cooking) directed by “Inés and Simone Ortega” and with the collaboration of the stylists; Cristina Hornedo and Christina Hinrichsen.
- Travelled to an International Photoquina Fair in Koln. There, contacted with the International Lomographic Company, social photo cultural movement developed by a group of ultramodern students that just finished their studies in the Vienna University. A small and mysterious Russian camera, called Lomo Kompakt became in the star of the movement.


1997 / 1998


- Appointed Lomographic Embassador for the whole Spain and organised the First Lomographic International Congress in Madrid. An exhibition in the Atocha Station in collaboration with RENFE ( Spanish Rail Company) where they are built 56 lineal metres of lomographic panels with thousands of instant photos from the whole world.( http://www.lomospain.com )
- Travelled to Cuba and prepared a folder from 150 selected images.
- Appointed Vice-President of the Spanish Association of Publicity Photographers.
- Speaker in the first debate of “Contemporaneous Photography”, organized by the Ministry of Culture at the University of Madrid.1998 / 1999 - Due to his journey to Vietnam, the magazine Arte Fotográfico published a folder with the more representatives images.
- Started to promote his work as an Author photographer in collective and individual exhibitions.
- Exhibition "Flecha 98". Commercial Centre Arturo Soria Plaza.

- PhotoEspaña 98. Galería Rina Bouwen. Exhibition "Vietnam Luz Color, Color Luz".
- The Editorial Lunwerg called him to photographically illustrate two books about the best restaurants in Madrid. "Mis Restaurantes Favoritos" with more than 600 photos.
- The gallery and art shop “Fann” commercialises his work.
- Opened his new studio in calle Almansa, 60 Nave and created a 1.000m2 facility offering a renting service of sets under the name of Locationibus Domus. http://www.locationibusdomus.com


1999 / 2000


- Exhibition "Flecha 99" in the Commercial Centre Arturo Soria.
- PhotoEspaña 99. Galería Rina Bouwen. Exhibition "De Pie" ( Originals of feet foregrounds selected from his journeys and urban situations ).
- Individual Exhibition in the National Contess Tarazona Foto.
- Exhibition in the Villanueva de la Cañada Town Hall. “De Pie” ( On foot).
- Organized and promoted the first national private call called “Entrefotos” ( among photos). An encounter with more than 30 photographers.
- Organized his first Studio of Creative Photography.2000 / 2001 - Exhibition “ Flecha “in the Commercial Centre Arturo Soria.
- PhotoEspaña 2000. Galería Rina Bouwen. Mis Panorámicas. A selection of images of landscapes and memories of his last trips.
- Individual Exhibition in the European Institute of Design, about the Japanese Floral Art Ikebana, in collaboration with the skilled Rikako Yano.
- Collective Exhibition in the Cultural Centre Patti Llimona during the photographic Spring in Barcelona. Colour Lomografics y audiovisual projection about instants of Madrid.
- Exhibition in Villanueva de la Cañada. “Mis panorámicas” and about the Japanese Floral Art Ikebana, in collaboration with the skilled Rikako Yano.
- Collective Exhibition in “Fábrica de Babel”. Las Rozas, Madrid.
- Collective Exhibition with 10 artists during the fair “Stampa ” in Madrid.
- Appointed by “IEDAR” commissioner of the collective photographic Exhibition “La Semana del Gusto” (Taste Week), en Casa de Vacas, El Retiro Madrid. (He also participated as author ).
- At Christmas exhibited in the Art Supermarket. American Prints.
- Organized and participated for the second time in the call “Entrefotos 2000”, at Locationubus Domus. More than 40 photographers met there to promote the authors photography in Spain.


2001- 2002


- PhotoEspaña 2001. Galeria Rina Bouwen Selected Images of his trip to Lombok, Indonesia.
- Organized in collaboration with PhotoEspaña and the International Lomographic Company the 2nd PhotoMarathon during the international photo festival PhotoEspaña 2001, celebrated in Madrid. More than 450 lomographic obtained funny instants walking and through the streets with the Russian Camera “Lomo”.
- Collective exhibition “Semana del Gusto”, Casa de Vacas, El Retiro, Madrid. He was again appointed commissioner and participated as author.
- Gave a short course of professional photography, organized by the Professional Photographers of the Association of Barcelona. “ El control de la Luz” ( Light control) , ( 35 students).
- Organized and participated for his third time, in the call “Entrefotos 2001”, at the facilities of Locationubus Domus. More than 45 photographers met to promote the author photography in Spain.
- Collective Exhibition in the Rina Bouwen Gallery. Gallery Anniversary. February 2002 .
- Collective Exhibition Help to Tíbet. February 2002.
- Speaker at the Photography Congress of the Spanish Federation of Photographers in Salamanca, Subject: ”El Control de la Luz”.
- Received the National Photography Award, (Spanish food) Alimentos de España 2001. Granted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fishing and Food, presented by IEDAR.
- Selected among the 100 best images in the National Contess “Caminos de Hierro”. ( Iron ways)
- Exhibition Itinerant Position and collective through all Spain “Caminos de Hierro”
- Exhibition “Horizontes Urbanos” in the “Cultural Centre Galileo” in Madrid.
