I have been working as a digital artist and illustrator for many years now since graduating in Art from Sir John Cass School of Art in the East End of London England in 1991 (now part of the London Metropolitan University). Although all my work is done digitally I try and push the medium as much as possible and make my imagery not look and feel too computer like. I enjoy experimenting with the medium and pushing the boundaries between traditional and digital. I like working with interesting surfaces and patterns and have a strong 'bond' with colour and composition. However my images are not just decorative and I try and either answer to a specific brief or create self promotional projects that have a strong meaning to them.
My work can be applied to posters, cards, magazine articles, corporate brochures, book jackets , digital media, cd covers, music industry and independent projects.
I enjoy the play between word and image and my work has words that are there to convey certain ideas. I also take a lot of photographs and use them as reference material. If one will ask me to describe my work I'll have to say that it has a strong sense of color and a layered look that creates a mystery and also resembles a collage composition on paper.I like taking many different elements, setting and manipulating them against each other until a coherent image comes through. I use my experience of living in many different places (New York, London,Toronto and Haifa Israel ) to enrich my visual vocabulary and contribute to the source material that constantly supplies me with new ideas.
