Nicola Bettale was born in Schio (I) in 1978 where he currently lives and works. Once he finished the linguistic Liceo in 1997, he has left for a personal journey for two years across England and France. He begins to be involved in photography in 2005 and since the beginning he falls under its spell, starting to set on a way of conceptual and expressive search through which he subjectively inquires into individual and collective aspects of contemporary society. Towards the end of the same year Bettale meets Ezio Turus, a D.A.C. teacher of F.I.A.F. (the Federation of all italian photographic groups), which he sets up an excellent and lasting friendship with. As from 2006 the young author has been taking part at exhibitions and photographic contests. In April 2006 Bettale wins the third prize at the 11th international photographic contest in Solighetto (I) with the work Sub Acquea. In 2007 he reaches the 1st prize at the Center-Suburbs international contest for young artists, organized by Federculture and he is one of the five selected photographers at the Arte Prize 2007. In 2008 he takes part at several group exhibitions as Liquid Paths at the Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation, From Academy to Furnace by the Furnace foundation and Camino al Bicentenario 1810-2010 - Pylares y Paracciones by the Presidencia de la Nacion, Buenos Aires, Argentina. In the same year he also shows his works in his first important solo exhibitions: Center-Suburbs. New Creativities in Rome by Federculture building and the Dance of Unknown people in Turin by the Pho-to' 35 gallery. In 2008 he is published in Young Blood 2007, the talented italian artists awarded in the world annual - Iron Production and Next Exit editors.
