Born in 1968 in northwest Mexico, I have eight years of experience as a professional photographer
I have experience with all facets of photography, including photojournalism, comercial, hand colored and fine art. I have earned two national awards for my work in Mexico: one for a photo report on a hospital providing care to indigenous people in Chiapas after the 1994 Zapatista uprising, the other for news coverage of the sea salt industry and its effect on whales in Baja California.
I believe every successful photographer has strong technical skills, a trained eye, good luck, and a passion for the work. I always look for a relationship between me and the situation I'm documenting. When this personal, direct relationship is established, I know that the images I produce will be powerful.
