As funny as it may sound, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Dumbo must be given a great deal of credit for my interest in art. At an early age, I was fascinated by my grandfather’s drawing ability. He was an architect by profession, and with a few strokes of a pencil, he could easily bring to life the world of Disney. He encouraged me to try and draw various cartoon characters, and eventually I found myself moving on to other more realistic things.
Art has always been my favorite subject. Whenever I was assigned a book report, history or science paper in elementary school, I would often do a drawing on the cover even though it was not required. Some of my teachers even asked me to do special art projects for them. When I started highschool, I immediately chose to take Art and then continued with an art class every year. Throughout my life I have been able to experience working with many different mediums, such as pencil, pastels and acrylic paints. I graduated from the Pennsylvannia College of Art and Design in 2005 so now I can achieve my goal of becoming an illustrator.
