My Illustration is a combination of mixed media including collage, paint, inks, print making and digital media. I enjoy exploring a variety of different media and putting them together within my images, sometimes scanning my work into the computer and piecing the elements together by layering them in Photoshop.
I am particularly interested in surface quality and enjoy creating texture through combining a range of materials. I try to ensure that my work maintains its handmade quality even if I decide to scan it into the computer.
Drawing is a fundamental aspect of my work. I like to experiment with linear quality and ensure my work maintains its fresh contemporary look with a strong sense of design and personal drawing style. Observational drawing is also important and my work incorporates a wide variety of subjects.
My work is adaptable and lends itself to both editorial and advertising markets. Specialisms include character design, caricatures and stylized figures, animals, food and buildings.
I have developed a strong and highly recognizable style ensuring my work is both stiking and original. My work has been commissioned by a wide range of clients including The Independent, The Guardian and The Times Educational Supplement.
