Lina Chesak Liberace's colorful, whimsical images are well suited for editorial and institutional illustration as well as illustrated maps and children’s books and literature. Her images of kids, creatures, animals and monsters have graced everything from bookcovers and clocks to websites and labels. Her stylized maps have helped people negotiate their way around places such as George Washington's Mount Vernon and Busch Gardens (see her website for more map, editorial and institutional images) and represented places from around the world in "National Geographic Traveler" magazine.
Her preferred mediums are oil or watercolor with the addition of pencil or ink. In 1997 Lina’s work was selected to be included into the Society of Illustrator’s exhibition and permanent collection, “Women Illustrators, Past and Present.” She's also had several images included in the annual exhibition of the Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles. Lina has been a member of the Illustrator’s Club of Washington, Maryland, and Virginia since 1990 and has received numerous awards in their annual shows. Lina lives with her husband, artist Robert Liberace and their two daughters in Virginia.
