My name is Justin Russell. Welcome to my portfolio page. I am a graduate of the Columbus College of Art and Design with a B.A. in Illustration. I work primarily in traditional media: watercolor, pen and ink, charcoal, graphite, oil paint, pastels. I have worked with digital media and have been trained in Photoshop, Indesign, Quark, Freehand and MS Word/Powerpoint. Most of the work I do is targeted toward a sci-fi/fantasy audience, primarily gamers. I am myself a gamer and writer, so I know the importance of capturing the essence of a character and world. I offer character design, concepting and map-making and storyboarding. I have been involved with the Wanderers' Guild (www.wanderersguild.com) and have had work published through that group for role-playing game supplements. There is currently a book (from the Wanderers Guild) in the process of being published that contains samples of my black and white work. I am currently involved with a game project doing concepting and illustrations to develop the game's characters and feel (www.skrall.com). I have had two short stories published, and a poem (poem published in KNEAD, an on-campus literary publication, Columbus College of Art and Design, for which I was an editor in 2004). Please, feel free to contact me and ask me questions about my work. I would be happy to answer them for you. (jrussell1182@hotmail.com)
