My paintings have taken me on a journey that starts with the notion that life lived between birth and death is filled with some wonderful and some tragic experiences. I am not unique in that I alone see beauty in the ordinary, but strive to enjoy the present and somehow document the emotions. My paintings are meant to communicate between the viewer and artist, a mutual understanding of what it is to be human, to experience moments in time. Each painting expresses an aspect of this journey, snippet by snippet.
I use water media: watercolor on paper and canvas and acrylic on canvas. Many of my images are realistic and others are abstractions from reality. I use color, value and texture to relate emotion in my paintings. Many paintings are available as original artworks, and the images are also suitable for a wide variety of use in publications, hotel art, corporate art and fine art reproductions.
I have a Bachelors in Art from Northeastern Illinois University. I am an accomplished art teacher having taught painting, drawing, Multimedia, computer design and ceramics to high school students in the inner-city but my first love is creating art. I am currently working full time as a professional artist. My work is presently being exhibited at Off The Wall Gallery in Bellevue, Iowa.
