Jim Rugg lives near Pittsburgh. He began doing illustration and comic book work in 2000. Since then, he has worked for many of the major American comic book publishers, including Marvel, DC, and Image. His clients include Vh1, New York magazine, Harcourt, UNICEF, and Capcom. Both his comics and illustrations have been recognized by the Society of Illustrators Annual Exhibition. His graphic novels include Street Angel, the PLAIN Janes, and Janes in Love. They have earned starred reviews from Publishers Weekly and been published in Spanish, French, and Italian editions. His work is a combination of traditional pen-and-ink drawing and computer illustration/coloring techniques. His illustration updates classic cartooning to a contemporary style suitable for communications, marketing, and entertainment. His experience lends itself character design, storyboarding, advertising, illustration, and graphic novels.
