Since becoming hooked on design at an early age, even producing small ads for a local kit car manufacturer, my passion for all things design has grown, and, over time my role as a graphic designer has branched out, blurred and generally expanded from my first love, print design covering everything from logo and branding design to brochures and leave behinds all the way through to visitor centre displays.
A need to get my hands dirty with the technical aspect of things has lead me to continue to revel in the printed page, whether designing or simply the challenge of a complex piece of artworking.
Wooed by the rise of the internet with all its flash interactivity plus the hidden geek inside me saw an inevitable move towards web design and development, an area which proves to be a never ending source of new ideas and technology.
I like to take an almost pragmatic approach to my work, and whilst that may sound a little dull, I do believe that the best designs are those that communicate their message well and achieve their desired goal with ease and clarity, all the while appealing to the target audience.
It's sadly not enough just to look pretty. But let's be honest, it does help.
