Darius Arkham was born in Essex in 1978 and began drawing as soon as he was old enough to grip a felt tip. Drawing mostly dinosaurs, Marvel superheroes and characters from Starwars, he was before long creating his own comics or illustrated short stories. As he was taught at home due to poor health during his childhood, Darius spent most of his childhood bringing his characters to life with the family video camera or building his own computer games with his friend, on a Spectrum ZX. His love for character design and illustration flourished during his teenage years and at 20 he began illustrating professionally.

Arkham Design Studios is a company that was started up early in 2008 by Darius Arkham, but one which has existed in essence for around five years. A company that combines bespoke illustration, character concept design and animation with website design and development. A company with a creative heart, but with a brain well trained in 21st century computer technology, programming languages and internet marketing.

About to go into its second year, Arkham Design Studios is already growing as a company, adding its own stock image libraries and merchandise line to the website.
