Alicia believes in capturing the true spirit of the moment. Her photos reflect an impeccable sense of timing and sensitivity to her subjects. During a wedding, she uses a photojournalistic style. Instead of constantly directing the events, she allows the couple to experience and enjoy their day. Meanwhile, Alicia anticipates important moments and captures them with both skill and artistry. Her style is unobtrusive, allowing real emotion to come forth. Additionally, Alicia believes that family portraits are an important historical record for the family. These formal photos are arranged to look both natural and relaxed.
All of her photos reflect her background and knowledge of fine art. She pays particular attention to composition, color, concept and emotion. She believes in always furthering her artistic and technical knowledge of photography. As a member of the Professional Photographers of America and the Portland Metropolitan Photographers Association, she attends workshops and conferences throughout the year.
Alicia also believes in using the finest equipment available including all professional Canon cameras and lenses. In the studio she uses Hensel studio lights and simple backdrops to ensure the focus of each photo is the person, not the props.
