After spending his growing up years in the Houston area, Tommy Kile found his way to Austin in 1988. Building on the foundation laid at Stephen F. Austin State University, he soon completed a Bachelor of Science in Radio-Television-Film at the University of Texas.
It was during his time at UT that Tommy began to discover his love of photography. He became aware that a still shot could capture what an entire film could not. Through the lens of a camera, in a single moment, whole stories can be told.
This idea expresses itself in his photographs, whether of a business owner in the heart of their environment or of a crowd enjoying the spontaneity of a gala event. From Mardi Gras to Bill Moyers, a livestock show to university professors, Tommy brings forth this unique vision and his ability to capture the moment. He has shot for such clients as ETC., Austin Fit, Back Office, Texas Alcalde, POV, Men's Health, and Emerging Business magazines, also The University of Texas, The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, Morgan Stanley, Dell and agencies Educational Marketing Group, T3, and JB Herrmann.
