My main interest in art is in the subtle expression of human emotion through, body language, colour and composition. I have an interest in women's issues in society and enjoy finding different ways of portraying them through my work. I am currently exploring the painting of nudes and experimenting with mixed media compositions. In portraits it is very important to me to have a personality emerge from the painting. Even in my paintings which omit the head, I strive to show a sense of character in the model as well as hints into their current emotional state as the painting was done or the photograph taken.
