David Ter- Avanesyan, born in St. Petersburg, Russia, lived his young impressionable life being influences with the many array of colors and concepts in his native country. Then in 1989, his family decided to move to the United States. As he grew older, he became mesmerized and intrigued in the arts. One can argue that his natural ability is passed down from his long lineage of relatives from distant and immediate who each carry the same gift or from his dedication to his craft. Since both his parents are great artists, they encouraged David’s youth to be colorful and exposed him at a tender age to become involved in creative pursuits. Memories as young as at the age of five years old, David recalls drawing—but not that of an ordinary child, rather that of a patient determined artiste. He uses his early childhood memories to cast new perception onto his artwork. Slowly he began to expand his talent, but his main focus was on graphic design. In terms of his education, David Ter-Avanesyan, attended the School of Visual Arts, where he received his BFA in Graphic Design. Currently, David’s main focus is on his book jacket designs. He works for Simon and Schuster, doing his passion—book jackets. But his skills are not limited in graphic designs and book jackets. David has a keen eye and distinctive hand in etchings. Whenever David is not working, he is taking a course to further his skills on etchings, which is his side passion. David has the gift to visualize a masterpiece before it comes out to play. Once his creation meets fruition, the results are astonishing. In effect, who ever witness’s his work, are left with a state of awe and mystery. Yes, for a man with so much still to learn, he has been able to capture a talent above his years, which floods into his work.
