---------------------------------------- This is some of my art and design work. This site includes a personal biography , (see WWW.COROFLOT.COM/SHELLYPRISELLA for client list & brief resume ).
I like to work in many mediums and presently Creative Direction & Graphic Design with a concentration in Advertising & Marketing is my focus. On my profile & resume link :::::::::: www.coroflot.com/shellyprisella :::::::::: you'll see more online portfolio samples of corporate design work such as packaging, magazine ads, brochures, logo design, various marketing & sales collateral, web site design, commercial product photography and trade show display design. I have always been involved in the arts. I used to go to 171 Cedar Arts Center in New York where I would study at a young age and entered art contests in elementary school, middle and high school often winning first place having art displayed in our local museums for shows and moving on to national competitions. Later at Ringling School of Art and Design I made it to "The Best Of Ringling" which unfortunately my father, my very first art teacher, didn't get to hear about it because he died that year. After college I just continued on my path with art and design and branched out to advertising and marketing. My professional design work including creative writing and ad copy has been published in international and national magazines, books, news journals etc... One of my Trade Show Display designs won first place, blue ribbon for overall best of show at the FCA (Florida Chiropractic Association) Spring Expo for Alcat. view my portfolio: coroflot.com/shellyprisella
I design, write, edit, outsource translation, direct and manage international projects and website design. I'm also a professional member of industry organizations such as ADC (Art Directors Club) in NYC, AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Arts) / NAFE (National Association of Female Executives) / ICOGRADA - International Council of Graphic Design Associations, A Partner of IDA - International Design Alliance. And a little side note: my first pen pal was from Japan. We used to write letters by hand before emailing! I was in Intercultural Club in highschool and had foreign exchange friends from Finland and Austria that went skiing with me in the winters. I was a foreign exchange student in Sweden with AFS, had been to Finland and from then on wanted to explore the world and learn about every amazing culture! I grew up in a city which is the glass capital of the world - Corning, New York - The Corning Museum of Glass. Corning Inc. is known for making the Hubble telescope lens, fiber optics, space shuttle tiles, Corelle Ware and showcases the best glass art sculptures and creations anywhere on the planet. Some of the world's most renowned glass instructors teach at the Glass Center like Lino Tagliapietra from Italy. I grew up around the glass museum. I used to go there on summer breaks just to be in the atmosphere of historical ancient art, energy, science and modern creations. My family owned an Italian American restaurant in New York for over 40 years. We treated everyone like family, my first job was at the restaurant, I had to count stock and shovel the walkway to the door. Before my father died, we had talked about building an artist's sanctuary. We wanted to open studio cabins and a gallery on our land for artists to display their work. I've also assisted with traditional Trompe l'oeil painting and mural measurements. Trompe l'oeil is known as "perspectival illusionis" and is tricky to measure. Its really captivating to see and to be involved in. Its a good exercise for the eye. I've also been playing a silver Doumbek for 15 years which is my baby...and experimenting with my Chinese Erhu, Korg Wavedrum, African Double Udu, Egyptian Doumbek along with Tablas and a new instrument, the Gopichand. I thought about going into animation at Ringling but I wanted to stick with Graphic Design and Photography, there is a lot of mobility. I like that about what I do, having mobility. My laptop has wi-fi, my mobile phone is fully equipped with mobile email and navigation. I can go anywhere to do business. In fact, I have my updated passport too. I'm ready! I want to travel the world and design along the way. Recently I've trained and explored Port Revenue Program Marketing and have experienced first hand how the flow of sales work on-board cruise lines and at various shore port merchant locations. I want to invite you to think about the advantages of having a reliable fully equipped marketing designer. At the drop of a hat you can call on me to assist at events and destinations. Why pay high overhead costs of ad agencies when you can count on me to deliver right to your email inbox, on location?! Why not think about saving gas and energy by hiring me as a telecommuter? Generally, as a freelancer, what we would do is arrange an initial meeting to discuss your marketing needs and then establish either meeting at different intervals or milestones of the project, or simply progress with the project's revisions by email/FTP. I've held meetings through Google Talk with partners half way around the world and have done live design and layout proofing through video on Yahoo, MSN and Windows Live. If you're proficient with Acrobat we can create live collaborative meetings that way, what ever suits your needs I will accommodate. I'm business professional's best friend, ask me for references and I will provide. I thrive under pressure! Run with the wolves! Swim with the sharks! --------------------------------
