Sutherland is passionate about creating work that gets noticed. He believes that without art in design it is uninteresting and boring. It needs to evoke emotion and feeling. With these beliefs Sutherland set off on his own in May 2006 under the name Salty Design Foundry. The name came from the meaning of the word Salty. 1.Sharp; witty 2. Stimulating or Provocative 3. Racy or Coarse: Salty humor 4. Of, containing, or seasoned with salt.
