Denis Mortenson was trained in illustration at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, and UCSB in Santa Barbara, where he received a B.A. in Art Studio.
He worked as an Art Director with various advertising agencies for a number of years. He has run his own studio since 1996, creating illustration and design work. He created storyboards for Sherman Alexie's upcoming movie, Reservation Blues, and ongoing illustrations based on the TV "Foster Imposters" for Foster Farms of California.
He has written several novels, a screenplay, and stories for children. The cover for "The Queen of Chocolate" is among the samples here.
