Since winning first place for "Twilight Landing" at her first photo exhibit, the 1981 Easton, Maryland Waterfowl
Festival, Kit has seriously pursued her passion for color photography.
She is known for her artistic and colorful images and strong composition. Intially she photographed birds and
animals in their habitats in Maryland, Virginia, Florida and Maine. Later she added nature, tourist destinations,
National Parks and Monuments along the East coast and several Western states.
Most recently she has been documenting Native American culture, lifestyles and antiquities on Indian reservations,
pueblos, and historic sites in Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, and Wyoming.
She travels around the country for her lively images of Native American and First Nations powwow dancers.
PUBLICATIONS - Her images have been published in a variety of calendars, books and magazines, including
National Wildlife Magazine, Smithsonian Magazine, and Outdoor Photographer, and many photos in The Encyclopedia of North American Indians published by Marshall Cavendish.
She both wrote and photographed two books, PHOTOGRAPHING WATERFOWL c. 1989, and THE CANADA GOOSE c. 1990
published by Voyageur Press. The goose book had three sold out editions, a U.S., and British and a Canadian French
language version. How does a Canada goose honk in French?
She is presently working on a book about her wonderful adventures visiting "Indian Country." Her specialities include Native Americans, First Nations dancers, reservations, pueblos, cliff dwellings and petroglyphs;
