Joanne creates distinctive commercial designs from surface patterns to illustrations employing a good eye for colour, with an emphasis on drawing-style, layout and composition. Innovative design-work such as screen-printing and embroidery are produced using pencil, ink and collage, then these are developed using CAD.
Products range from fashion, textile, editorial illustrations for publishing, advertising, corporate in-house for interior design companies, styling, product packaging, licensing for posters, cards and products, magazines and books, whilst completed in a variety of themes and styles to suit specified tastes and functions. From beginning at Staffordshire University with a degree in Surface Pattern design to freelance work and a career in visual merchandising Joanne has continued her career with progressive promotions which have kept her at the forefront of design inspirations and trends. This has enabled her to stay driven, commercially aware, organised and creative.
