Kleinsteuber is becoming well known for her portraits in which she uses photo-transfer techniques and bright, solid colours. The subject matter of Kleinsteuber's paintings take on a form that is both confrontational and seductive. These portraits are sexy and unapologetic. "I want to push the edges and blur the lines of what society deems as acceptable and tolerable. My personal focus these days seems to be about exploring sexuality, that of my own and that of others. Hense, it becomes a focus that translates into my art practice. I'd like to harness the wandering eye and dare the viewer to examine their biases and to promote the enjoyment of looking. Looking is complicated of course, but it should be pleasureable. And art is.... afterall, about looking."
