Fiona Aboud is a New York City based portrait photographer. Aboud's love of cultural diversity and travel has been a strong inspirational current within her portraiture. She is fluent in four languages and she has traveled to over 35 countries to date. Born in Brazil, she is the daughter of parents with both Lebanese and Jewish heritage. The experience of meeting people from all walks of life inspires and motivates her photography. She is particularly interested in the emotion of people as they experience defining cultural and social events in their lives. In 2005 her photograph of Miss Rodeo Missouri was selected by Robert Rosenblum, Co-Curator of 20th-Century Art for the Guggenheim Museum, for the Viridian Artists Gallery 16th Juried Exhibition. Interested in bringing her fine art style to the commercial market place, Aboud’s work was accepted into the Graphis Photo Annual 2005 and the International Photography Awards 2005, broadening her accolades in both worlds.
