I'm
Dawnne Gee, the owner and lead photographer of
ShadowMoon Productions, LLC in southeastern South Dakota, specializing in weddings, sports, and nature photography. I shoot exclusively in digital, using Nikon/Nikkor equipment, and am very active in the Digital Asset Management (DAM) community and frequently serve as a beta-tester for the software that I use for post-production, currently including Nik Software filters and various programs relating to Digital Asset Management. I am a member of the Professional Photographers of America, the North American Nature Photography Association, the National Association of PhotoShop
® Professionals, and the American Academy of Wedding Professionals.
My
imagery typically showcases the abundant power and versatility of nature on the northern plains, including storms, clouds, and other forms of turbulence in addition to the peaceful solemnity of landscapes of the open prairie, lakes, winter scenes, and close-ups of flowers and other flora. I have lived in several diverse areas over the years, so my
digitographic portfolio also includes vivid scenes of beaches, mountains and other scenes from New Mexico and Southern California.
My true creativity resides in the digital manipulation of the images I
capture, and thus, unretouched shots are a rarity for me. This practice also lends itself to providing several versions of an original image, presented not only to evoke separate emotions, but also so that the versions may serve as complements to each other. Versions are typically available for licensing individually, and are available in limited editions to protect the value of the art. Still, my personal preference is to provide images pretty much as they were composed through my view-finder instead of elaborate compositions. Since I frequently shoot with some specific post-production process in mind, I like to bring those who view it into that same mindset.
My works are generally available as stock, for one-time license (corporate and private), or as fine art. Details on the availability of each image are included in each image's informational post in
my fine art blog. I am negotiable, but obviously conscientious about protecting the value of those pieces which have already sold as fine art. I am available for hire to document environmental concerns and issues across the region bounded by Minneapolis, Fargo, Rapid City, Omaha, and Des Moines. While my focus here on creativeshake.com is primarily relegated to fine art and stock photography, I also do
weddings,
portraits, and
sports photography through
my company.
