Courtney Gonzalez is a Traverse City, Michigan based freelance photographer who has worked with Retail, Advertising, Entertainment, and Wedding clients.
Her interest in food photography peaked while attending RIT after taking a food class under the instruction of Allen Vogel. “He was very inspiring – and completely willing to allow me to bend assignments in the direction that I wanted to take my work, as were all of my professors.” Clean, simple, mouth-watering food pictures are what Courtney has enjoyed photographing most.
A perk of food photography is being able to control your subject, which was one of the reasons Courtney hesitated in photographing people. However, after dipping into wedding photography through a local company, a new passion has awakened in her. Letting go of that control and just flowing with the spontaneity is all part of the fun. “There’s something exciting about playing such an important role in someone’s special day. I enjoy being around people celebrating their love for each other and capturing their memories in a fun and artistic way."
Courtney's work is suitable for book covers, coffee table books, advertising, design, hotels, tourism, brochures and magazines.
