In addition to a lifelong career in professional photography, Bruce has logged time with Hallmark Cards, Erickson Productions, Stone Soup Productions, Synthesis Creative, Torque, Ltd., and – currently – his own DeBoer Works Photographic Productions on the east coast. He's been a business manager, marketing director, advertising account executive, writer, creative consultant, but most notably, a respected photographer. Over the years, clients have included Audi, Harley Davidson, Healthy Choice, Anheuser-Busch, GlaxoSmithKlien, Shell Motor Club, Amoco, Couples Resorts Jamaica, Royal Carri bean Cruise Lines, MGM Studio 54, and Giro Sport Designs.
Bruce headed a creative department at Hallmark Cards from '88-'92, then moved on to work with some of the best creative talent in the advertising industry. For much of his professional career Bruce has lived in North Carolina, but he’s also been based in Boston, Kansas City, and Chicago shooting lifestyle, portraits, fashion, studio people & product, celebrities, and personalities for advertising, editorial, corporations across all catagories.
The award cabinet is full. Bruce’s name appears on National and Regional Addy Awards, One Show Awards, NY Festivals Gold, and National Kelly Award Finals. He’s been published in Communication Arts, Graphis Design Annuals, Print Magazine Annuals, AIGA Annuals, and Ad Week. Recently Bruce was selected to work on the America 24/7 project and as a guest lecturer at the famed College of Journalism and Mass Communications at UNC Chapel Hill. Need we say more?
