Mike’s early work consisted of landscapes scenes from the rolling wooded hills and autumnal hues of the Vernon Valley/Great Gorge area, and nautical scenes from the sandy sun drenched beaches of the Jersey shore. Mike's work in the construction industry, helping preserve old structures and revitalize urban areas, expanded his interest of images into architecture and the preservation of rural history. This focused Mike’s developmental process more acutely on his desire to make the camera an extension of his eye. To this end he began to minimize the use of artificial light and filters, opting to capture objects in their natural setting. Mike’s creative fine art photojournalistic style incorporates unique perspectives, subtleties of color, contrast, and framing to capture moments of light that are pure examples of his eyes perception of the things we all think we see.
Now with more than 20 years of experience, Mike's fine art images portray his love for rural history in the built and living environments. Travel to Martha’s Vineyard and northern New England feed his love for seascapes and nautical themes as well as autumn hues and hillsides. Mike’s home state of New Jersey provides the most significant backdrop of his genre and view of the urban condition and the plight of old structures – the rural environment.
With the availability to travel extensively throughout the United States and the world Mike is fully equipped and experienced in on location photography shoots.
All this has culminated in Mike's unique photojournalistic fine art 'photographic painting' portraiture style. Be it a model portfolio, family portrait, wedding, anniversary, special event, or special moment Mike will turn the moment into lasting fine art memories. A view of art and images.
