California-based fine art photographer Billy Blake studied Art History and Photography at New York University. He is strongly influenced by the Impressionists and fascinated by the unique and transient nature of light. He loves to deceive the eye, using reflections and motion. Blake set out in 1977 with his Nikon to photograph and create his personal visions of the world in black and white and Kodacolor. Blake’s photographic prints and stock photography images are infused with a painter’s palette for color and an architectural eye for composition. His subjects range from highly colorful impressions of nature’s beauty to the fanciful juxtaposition of found objects or situations.




Billy Blake was given several one-man shows and numerous group shows in New York City over the past two decades, and a solo exhibit in California in 2005. Since moving to the Los Angeles area in 1995, he has begun a fascination and preoccupation with the world of Digital Photography and concentrated on color. Blake personally supervises all aspects of the photographic process and hand-signs each very-limited-edition print.
