I believe in the power of Advertising. Whether it’s a mainstream consumer campaign, a promotional campaign or an annual report, in my mind it’s still Advertising. And it still has to work hard to plant the benefits of the client’s product firmly in the mind of the consumer.
Advertising should be a fascinating and memorable meeting, even at a crowded gathering. A lively conversation that leads to a lasting relationship. As a both writer and an art director, I have the opportunity to spark up that conversation in two different languages: the language of images and the imagery of the written word.
I dig deep to discover the most compelling claim the advertiser can make - and ensure it is the claim that will interest the consumer most. Then I apply the discipline of how to say it or show it in the most powerful and memorable way.
In a language that touches the heart and the head of the consumer. And elicits a response on both levels.
Over the past 20 years, I have worked for a host of wonderful agencies and clients. Some use me as a writer, some as an art director. Some want me to ply both my trades and simply deliver the finished goods. I enjoy it all, and have the dictionary and art collections to prove it.
I’ve also worked on a broad cross section of categories - from food to finance, computer software to hard lemonade. On campaigns that span TV, radio, magazine, newspaper, promotional and corporate materials as well as the world wide web.
