I graduated from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design with a BFA in Illustration in 1998. Shortly after graduation, I was hired on and studied under Tom Richmond (who is known for his work in Mad Magazine) and worked Tom’s concessions at the Valleyfair Theme park and the Mall of America, which are both located in the Minneapolis metro area. I moved to San Diego, CA in 1999 and established by own business ‘Caricatures by Grant’ (www.artbygrant.com) which I do mail order/gift caricatures and caricatures live at events all over southern California including San Diego, Orange County, Palm Springs and Los Angeles.

Besides doing Caricatures live at events I am also a freelance illustrator specializing in editorial illustration, magazine illustration, advertising illustration, magazine covers, Children’s book illustration, album artwork, logo design, T-shirt design, and character design.

I love illustrating people such as: celebrities, musicians, actors, actresses, entertainers, politicians, athletes and performers.
