Born in 1971 in Moscow, Alexandra always was fascinates by the concept of other worlds, real and imaginary, separated from us by immense distance in space or time. This lead to an interest in science fiction and fantasy, ancient cultures and space science.
Following a science career she graduated from Geographical Department of Moscow State University. Later she defended a dissertation about dunes and channels of Mars. She also traveled Earth widely making use of her sketch books and camera.
Alexandra has been drawing and painting since childhood and eventually decided to pursue a painting career. She took some private drawing lessons in Russia and later, living in the USA, she attended a short course "From Amateur to Professional" by Susan Abbott.
In 2003 Alexandra with her husband and children settled in East Midlands, UK. Since then she has been selling paintings and participating in art exhibitions where she earned several awards. One of Alexandra's works has been published in a Russian newspaper, several are in private collections in Russia, USA, UK and Switzerland.
At the moment Alexandra is working using mostly oil pastels, oil and acrylic paints, sketching digitally and photodigitally. She also enjoyes creating digital artwork. The subject of her paintings often lies somewhere in between the existing word and imaginary realms. She is finding he inspirations in the Beauty and Mystery of Nature, human made objects, music, and the greatest fantasy (and sc-fi) sagas.
