I am a multi-discipline visual artist, covering the fields of Illustration, Graphic Design, Photography and Digital Photo-Restoration and Manipulation. My business is based in the attractive seaside town of Largs, on the west coast of Scotland. Over the course of the last twenty five years or so, I have worked on projects for a wide variety of clients, in both the private and commercial sectors.
I have always possessed an innate ability to accurately draw or paint almost anything I could imagine, and wished to share my images with a wider audience. My illustrative style is photorealistic, and is mainly in the conceptual sci-fi genre. In all my work I attempt to exceed my clients' expectations, and enjoy hearing a 'wow!' on presentation of the finished piece.
Originally, I exclusively used traditional techniques to produce artwork; airbrush, acrylic, gouache and pencil, but eventually realised in the late '90's that I would have to embrace digital techniques in order to produce work suiting the expectations of the 21st century media world.
As a consequence in 2000 I gained a Diploma qualification in Graphic Design, and a thorough grounding in digital image production techniques, which I now utilise throughout my work.
My introduction to commercial illustration came back in the early '80's, when I was commissioned by the Words & Pictures agency, London, to produce half; over fifty - of the cover Illustrations for the then newly released 'Mastertronic' range of computer games, published in 5" floppy disk and cassette format. This relatively large project prepared me for the stresses of producing high quality finished artwork to a deadline.
Recent work has been mostly in the fields of Photo-Restoration and commissioned artwork.
Currently I am available for private or commercial work in the fields of book publishing, commissioned advertising work and corporate projects.
