Dawn graduated cum laude with a BFA in illustration from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). While in college she illustrated her first book published for the University of Maryland Medical Services. She worked at W.B. Doner Advertising as an in-house illustrator doing marker comps, finished art and storyboards for clients such as The Ad Council, Ford, Tio Sancho, Klondike, and the Mid-Atlantic Milk Marketing Association. Dawn's architectural renderings can be seen all over the web as well as in print nationally for marketing for builders and developers. Her watercolors are widely used in advertising and product design.
