Biography
Amie Vanderford is a Memphis, Tennessee - Southeast United States-based freelance photographer who has provided photographic services and prints for non-profit and educational organizations along with images used for marketing purposes in a number of industries. Clients have included Integrate Technologies, LunaWeb, Mississippi River Corridor Project, the University of Memphis, several Schmap travel guides, the Bartlett Area Chamber of Commerce, The Onion and the SCA Journal.
Her images have been used in annual reports, marketing folders, organizational DVDs, commercial websites and interior office décor. Her photography has been featured on numerous websites including Women in Photography International, Photo Box, Live From Memphis and absolutearts.com.
Her black and white photography website was awarded one of the Top Ten Photo Web Sites at Black & White World for November/December 2000, reviewed by Mason Resnick. Her work was featured in a two woman exhibit at the Loft Gallery in San Francisco, California. One of her photographs won second place in the "Reddish" photography competition at the Globe Gallery in New Mexico. Other exhibits of her work include Women in Photography 20th Anniversary Tea Time Exhibit, photo l.a. 2002 and Photoimpact in Los Angeles, California along with further exhibitions in cities such as San Francisco, California and Jackson, Mississippi. A limited edition book of her Memphis photographs was sold at Burke Book Store in Memphis, and her work has been sold at a variety of charitable silent auctions from San Francisco, California to Jackson, Mississippi and Memphis, Tennessee.
Amie has worked with numerous cameras including 35mm film SLRs, medium and large format film cameras, along with digital point and shoot to digital SLRs. Her current shooting camera is a digital SLR. She has processed black & white film and printed black and white photographs in a physical darkroom, and is quite skilled in digital post-processing using Adobe Photoshop.
Amie has a large existing base of photographs for stock photography use and is available for advertising, marketing, travel, and journalistic photography assignments including travel and guide books, interior design companies, in-house corporate work, commercial advertising, social documentaries, editorial magazines and books, and materials for Non-Governmental Organizations. Willing to travel for assignments.
