Michelle Gengaro is a New York–based fine artist and illustrator who works in a variety of media, but watercolor remains her favorite. Michelle's fine art has been shown in galleries across the country, in both juried and group shows, and her work has earned her the Elizabeth K. Ellis Artist Fellowship Award. Michelle is also an award–winning book designer, with clients such as Knopf Delacorte Dell, Clarion Books, and Billboard Books. She has taught graphic design at Manhattan's Parsons School of Design. Michelle earned her BFA in illustration from Parsons School of Design in 1992 and is a member of The Graphic Artists Guild, the American Watercolor Society, The Salmagundi Club, and The Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators.
