Bruce Chalmers - On The Water Communications
With over 15 years of professional experience under his belt, Bruce knows that any client has a key objective to get a message to customers effectively, and to get results. To achieve this he thinks strategically; leverages creativity; and uses the latest technology to deliver. He understands the sense of urgency around timelines and budgets, and the desire to create results and offers one-stop shopping from creative concept to final product. When necessary Bruce does his own photography which appears in numerous pieces of his work.
Bruce's work-experience extends from corporate and financial service clients, advertising agencies, event management companies, pharmaceutical clients, as well as other marketing and communications firms. He has worked with a number of clients - The Toronto International Film Festival, Royal Bank, Magna International, SafeKids Canada, Molsons, Bacardi, Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, Astrazeneca, GlaxoSmithKline, The Flying Monkeys Craft Brewery. A former senior art director at a large Toronto agency - Bruce considers teamwork to be key and tantamount to achieving the best possible end product. Over the years he has forged and developed strong on-going working relationships with a variety of suppliers who share the same top-notch skill levels, values and philosophies: photographers, illustrators, new media designers and writers, and printers.
Not every designer is capable or comfortable in taking projects from conception to film/print. Bruce's clients appreciate his full-service attitude and technical knowledge. Considered an industry professional in Adobe Photoshop, photo-illustration, retouching and pre-press; Bruce's skills have been sought out by various design firms and colleges. His lectures and workshops have benefitted many students and working professionals. Based near Toronto, in Barrie, most of his clients are in Toronto. Bruce is currently a member of the Georgian College Graphic Design Advisory Board and is a Juror for the Graphic Design Awards Program at the College.
