Tim Kavander
Canada
Group Creative Director
Publicis Toronto
What does a guy with an Honours B Comm, naturally do when he graduates? Copywriting, of course. Tim joined Arnold Worldwide in May of 2002 as Senior V.P., Co-Creative Director. As a copywriter by trade, Tim partnered with his long-time Art Director, Bill Newbery, to share the responsibility of driving the new creative vision at Arnold.
Life before Arnold included 12 years of experience in large multinational agencies like Y&R and Leo Burnett as well as smaller creatively driven boutiques like Lowe Roche. Tim's experience crosses all categories including the likes of Sony, AOL, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, IKEA, Proctor & Gamble, Kraft, Kelloggs, AGF Mutual Funds, BMO Financial Group, KFC, United Way and the list goes on and on and on.
As much as Tim believes in creative that gets results, he also recognizes that creative awards are a necessity of the business - a yardstick of comparison, if you will. In that respect, Tim has hit for the cycle. His work has received international recognition at Cannes, the Clios, The One Show, The London International Festival, The New York Festivals and Communication Arts. Here at home you'll find Tim's work has received awards at Marketing, The Bessies, The Canadian Advertising and Design Club, The Extras, The Cassies, and so on and so forth.
Tim is probably most widely known for creating AGF Mutual Funds' "Eventually Everyone Retires" campaign. Created in `96, the enduring "What are you doing after work?" theme remains the lynchpin in all AGF communications.

Theresa Gaffney
United States
Theresa's lifelong pursuit of visual inspiration has propelled her on a colorful career path with ART as the focus. Making it [on her own time], making it for other people [as a studio assistant], selling it [at the Leo Castelli Gallery], writing about it [for Sothebys], and directing people who are better at it [for Vogue and The New Yorker]. So it's particularly felicitous that her current position as Creative Services Director for Conde Nast Portfolio affords her the opportunity to practice the art of business.
