I'm a freelance graphic designer based in Brooklyn, NY. I have ten years of professional experience designing a wide range of print jobs, including logos, retail packaging, promotional materials, magazine ads, business cards, pamphlets, catalogs, book jackets, and textbooks.
As a freelancer a major client has been the Random House Audio Publishing Group, where I have designed hundreds of audiobook packages. Many of these involve adapting the original book jacket design to a packaging format, adding and manipulating design elements as needed. I have designed a number of completely original audio packages for Random House, as well as designing catalogs, magazine advertisements, back-of-book ads, and convention booth signage. I've also done jobs for related divisions at Random House, including promotional samplers and brochures/pamphlets for Random House Large Print and book jackets for Random House Value.
I have also designed promotional materials, leave-behinds, story bibles, pitch books, and script covers for Sunbow Entertainment, an animation development and production company whose properties included The Tick and The Cramp Twins. In addition to my corporate work, I've designed business cards, letterhead, logos, and packaging or individuals and small companies. I have also created movie props for several independent films, including the short Hot Dog Randy and the feature film First Time Caller.
I graduated cum laude from Smith College with a major in Studio Art, and developed my graphic design skills first as a Digital Format Specialist at Kaplan Interactive and then as a Production Artist at the McGraw-Hill School Division. At McGraw-Hill I helped design systems of templates and style sheets for incredibly complex and graphics-heavy textbooks. I have excellent technical skills and am comfortable working with complicated, information-rich designs.
