Hello there, my name is Jesse Johnstone. If we were at a cocktail party this is the part where I would explain that I’m a new media artist specializing in web design and programming. Going hand in hand with creating content for the web is graphic design, Flash development and copywriting, so that is part of my freelance business as well.

By this point in the conversation you might notice that I prefer beer over wine, then you would probably want to know specifics on what type of web development I focus on and dig a bit deeper to find out some of my design philosophies. I would respond by saying that I’m a fan of open source frameworks such as Ruby on Rails, Joomla, osCommerce, Word Press, Open Realty and the like. As far as motivation behind design and functionality…I tend to rely on the dynamics of the project to shape its outcome. That’s not to say that I skip over pre-planning and research with my clients’ projects, I guess that is a fancy way of saying that each and every project is different from the next and therefore they must be approached from different angles. However, design themes that run across my projects are simplicity, usefulness, collaboration and most of all, effciency.
