DENISE VIVALDO
As a food stylist, Ms. Vivaldo worked on many cookbooks. Most recently, Somersize Desserts and Somersize Fast & Easy, both national bestsellers. She has worked on numerous local and nationally syndicated television shows including: The KTLA Morning News; TV Guide Channel’s Celebrity Dish, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno; FOX TV’s Good Day LA; Access Hollywood; CNN’s Showbiz Today; Entertainment Tonight; and various TV Food Network and Home and Garden Television shows. Denise Vivaldo is a professionally trained chef with more than eighteen years experience teaching and consulting in all areas of the culinary and hospitality industry. Recognized as a respected food professional, her expertise ranges from food styling for print, television and film, to buffet design, innovative menu conception, recipe development and cookbook coordination. Ms. Vivaldo began her culinary training at The Ritz Escoffier and La Varenne in Paris. She continued her education at the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, graduating Chef De Cuisine in 1984. In 1988, Ms. Vivaldo founded Food Fanatics. Since that time, she has had commissions for many prestigious events, among them the Academy Awards Governor’s Ball. Ms. Vivaldo is the author of How to Start a Home-Based Catering Business, currently in its fourth edition. She is working on a new series of books to be published by Food Fanatics &Terrace Publishing. The first book in the series is Do It For Less: Parties, due out in the spring of 2004. In her work as a creative consultant she has developed original recipes for cookbooks authored by many nationally recognized fitness and lifestyle gurus. Clients include Suzanne Somers, Richard Simmons, Larry North, Carrie Wiatt, Susan Powter, Florence Henderson, Sandra Lee and Katie Brown.
ANDY SHEEN-TURNER
Andy acquired a taste for fine food while touring the major cities of Europe as a professional musician. After relocating to the United States, he entered UCLA’s Professional Designation in Cooking and Baking program. Andy honed his skills by working at prestigious Los Angeles eateries. In 1996, he founded Another Bite Catering, a private chef and catering service that had a client base centered in the Hollywood entertainment industry. For the last four years Andy has been working with Denise Vivaldo full-time. He styles food for television, movies and print; blocks segments for cooking demonstrations for television and video; provides prop food for television and movies; and develops, tests and edits recipes for cookbooks. He is currently working on a new series of entertaining and catering book called Do It For Less.
CINDIE FLANNIGAN
Cindie decided to pursue her life-long love of food by changing careers and enrolling in the California Culinary Academy's Chef de Cuisine program. She has been working with Denise and Andy since graduation, styling food for television, movies and print; blocking segments for cooking demonstrations for television and video; providing prop food for television and movies; and developing, testing and editing recipes for cookbooks, and designing Food Fanatic's marketing pieces. She is currently working with Denise and Andy on the Do It For Less series of books. In her life before food Cindie managed the graphics department at a scientific research company for many years, developing advertising campaigns, designing annual reports, creating direct mail pieces, and designing software packaging and user manual design.
